Anti-Aging Injectables
With wrinkles, cracks and crevices appearing on our face as we lose elasticity and fullness, it is a battle to retain a youthful appearance.
Injectable fillers and Anti-wrinkle Injections are a mainstream of the cosmetic industry to women and men
Facial wrinkles and creases begin to appear as the underlying collagen and elastin fibres begin to break down and wear out after the age of 25. While this breakdown is part of the natural ageing process, it can also result from excessive squinting, frowning, smoking or sun damage.
Dermal Fillers
Dermal Fillers used to fill in those fine lines on that once youthful visage or fill deeper sun damaged wrinkles. The downtime is minimal and the results immediate. Injectable wrinkle fillers are now a common tool in the anti-aging arsenal.
Which filler is right for you?
Initial consultation with one of our specialist cosmetic doctors is required to assess your skin condition and recommend an appropriate treatment for you to achieve optimum results.
Doctor recommend the appropriate filler and select the strategy - slow, gradual improvement or instant gratification with minimal maintenance thereafter. Our doctors understand how fillers work and what the results will be from each product.
There are two main classes of temporary fillers: HA based and collagen based.
1. Hyaluronic acid - Frequently referred to simply as HA or short-term fillers - a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps add volume and hydration. They are synthetically produced, yet almost identical to the HA that occurs naturally in your body. The molecules in HA's bind to water, re-strengthening the support system underneath wrinkled skin. Hyaluronic acids are used to plum thin lips and to fill creases such as nasolabial folds as well as to fill surface wrinkles and concave scars.
Common HA fillers used include Juvéderm, Restylane, and Perlane. All last about a year, and function in the same way.
2. Collagen - A major structural component of the skin, which is a stringy, fibrous protein that provides the skin with strength, flexibility and resilience. Collagen has been injected into fine lines and wrinkles n the U.S. since the 1970's. But, there were allergic reactions and it just didn't last. Today there are fillers that are engineered to stimulate your own collagen. Radiesse and Sculptra are two products that specifically do the job.
Radiesse (Calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres, a calcium-like product found in human bones and suspended in a gel) is used to fill deeper lines and to add volume to the midface. Sculptra Aesthetic. Sculptra (poly-L-lactic acid microspheres) is used for deep volume restoration by stimulating our own collagen. Aesthetic results are gradual and require multiple treatments; you can expect to undergo three to five injection sessions over a three- to five-month period. Injections are made deep into the skin and, hence, may require a local anesthetic to minimize pain.
